The Journey to Excellence Campaign

CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini is embarking on a capital campaign to enhance the health care and ministry that we have provided for the families of Central Louisiana for over a half century. This major philanthropic effort will positively impact the health delivery for future generations.

Invest in these Centers of Excellence:

The Cabrini Cancer Center – The Cancer Center has earned a reputation of compassionate and competent care. The Center offers a full range of treatments – chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and cancer trials treatments that are monitored through Tulane Medical and MD Anderson. The Cabrini Cancer Center also actively participates in national cancer research, which means that the most up to date data on the effectiveness of cancer drugs is available and is used for consultation between the patient and his or her oncologist.

The Cabrini Heart Center – Cabrini Hospital has the distinction of performing the first open heart surgery in Central Louisiana. We want to continue that tradition of leadership in heart care. Through the Journey to Excellence we want to develop a One Stop center that offers the full range of cardiac services.

School – Based Health Centers -- CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital operates 15 school-based health centers throughout Central Louisiana. Though these programs are sponsored by the Louisiana Office of Public Health, the professional staffing of the center is a budget item of the hospital. Basic school health services are available to all students without charge. This forward thinking program improves access, for children and families, to quality medical and mental health care. The primary goal is to keep our children in school.

Sports Medicine -- CHRISTUS Cabrini Hospital has degreed and registered Athletic Trainers on the Athletic Department staffs of junior highs and high schools throughout Central Louisiana. The Cabrini Trainers serve over 50 schools. They attend practices and scheduled sporting events. Through their experience and education, they are able to prevent and recognize potentially serious injuries that require immediate medical attention. A gift to this program will allow the hospital to retain the best and brightest to serve the well being of both the student – athlete and his or her family.

The Cabrini Chapel -- A new chapel will be constructed on the grounds of the hospital. As a Catholic health care institution, the Cabrini Chapel will be the spiritual center of CHRISTUS’ mission and ministry. The Chapel will be the spiritual oasis for those who are struggling with the emotional issues of life and death. Our new chapel will underscore our mission, “to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ”. Where the need is greatest -- These gifts are the much needed unrestricted gifts that allow hospital leadership to respond to any emergency situation. They may allocate resources to recruit a physician who has a national reputation or to assist in a community wide health project. These gifts add to the margin of excellence that is the goal of CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini.
