The Cabrini Endowments

Funds donated to this endowment allow Cabrini oncologists the opportunity to participate in national research efforts to assist in the development of drugs for cancer trials and the advancement of new cancer therapies. The fund also allows the Cabrini Cancer team the opportunity to do educational and screening programs in Central Louisiana. Your gift will help find the cure.

The School – Based Health Centers:

CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini hospital operates 15 school –based health centers that serve the health needs of children who live in areas that do not have access to adequate medical care. These centers are staffed by nurse professionals and social workers. They are the “front – line of defense” in teaching our young people healthy life style habits and keeping them in the classroom. Your gift to this fund is an investment in the future of Louisiana.

Hospice: 

The spiritual philosophy of the Cabrini Hospice program is that life is a continuum and that our patients should live out their days with loved ones and with dignity. As a Catholic institution, our Hospice program emphasizes that we are on a faith based journey, and the program is inspired by the words from Luke’s Gospel, “A man once gave a great banquet, and invited many; and at the time for the banquet he sent his servant to say to those who had been invited, ‘Come; for all is now ready.’” Your gift to the Cabrini Hospice Fund enhances the dignity of human life.

Nursing and Medical Education Scholarship Fund:

In today’s market, the hiring and retaining of nurses and other medical professionals is very competitive. The establishment of this endowment fund will give the Cabrini medical leadership the opportunity to encourage our associates to continue their education to earn professional degrees and licenses in health – related fields. Through this fund, Cabrini can encourage its own to further their careers and professionalism.

The Patient Assistance Fund:

This endowed fund allows the Cabrini Social Workers to assist those patients who do not have the resources to meet varied costs associated with long term treatment or hospitalization. The hospital absorbs the costs of clinical care, and the Patient Assistance Fund provides help for travel, medical equipment, lodging, clothing, etc. All recipients are screened by the Social Workers and the medical staff. A gift to the Patient Assistance Fund gives the Cabrini associates the opportunity to live out our mission “to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ.”
